Jump Rope for Heart and Grandparents Day

We have been learning to skip with the Jump Rope for Heart programme. We then invited our Grandparents to have a look at see how we had got on. Pretty cool we think.

Margaret's Pirate

We read Margaret Mahy's The Man Whose Mother was a Pirate. We had to paint our own picture, mixing up our paints and then wrote a Description about her

Descriptive Writing

In Term 3 we finished off our Descriptive Writing Unit with cinquains about Spring. Awesome work Room 4!

Writing Evening

In Term 3 the whole school hosted a Writing evening to help show our parents how we learn to write.

Room 4 looked at the Writing process. We made different hats to show which stage of the Writing Process we were presenting.  We learnt about Planning, Drafting, Revising, Editing and Proofreading and Publishing.

St John to the Rescue!

In August St John came to visit to teach us what they do in the community. We learnt about how they can help us and what to do when someone's nose bleeds. We discussed who to call if there is either a fire or an accident. After learning how to dial 111, we learnt that it is very important to know our home address and phone number.

Isaiah, Saitutuila and Fonoga got to try the St John uniforms. Looking cool!

2012 Olympics

We are all so excited about the 2012 Olympics that begin on Friday 27 July. I promised you that I would include a link to the official website. Please click on 2012 Olympic to go to the website. It includes all the information about the sports, athletes and the countries that will be participating. The link to the sports has video footage about the sport as well as giving information about the rules. Have fun!

Honesty

This term we have been learning about Honesty. We shared a Chinese Folk Tale called the Empty Pot by Demi to help us understand about honesty. We discovered that sometimes being Honest takes Courage. Have a look at the video and tell us what you think.
